Ronstan Series 60 Core Block - Single Sailing
Series 60 Base Blocks - SimpleBase blocks are a true multi-purpose solution. An optimized 2-stage bearing system provides excellent performance across the entire working load range with an integrated thrust bearing function and the resilience to support high dynamic or static loads. An acetal pulley, alloy cheeks and stainless steel fixings complete the durable package. For their reliability and long life, these blocks are the right choice for sheeting, halyard and control line applications for cruising and racing.
Universal bearing
Dynamic static load and high performance
The Ronstan universal bearing incorporates our proven 2-stage bearing system
Stage 1 - Under moderate loads , acetal ball bearings ensure minimum friction.
br>Stage 2 - Under heavy loads, wheredeformation of the ball bearings alone would result in increased friction, an acetal sliding bearing on a polished stainless steel ring takes over, maintaining low friction performance.
Additionally, the ball bearings are configured to act as a thrust bearing between the pulley and the cheeks, preventing the pulley from rubbing on the cheeks and causing friction when the entry and exit of the block line is not perfect. Particularly important for cheek blocks.
Alloy Cheek Plates
Block cheeks are made from the highest quality alloy for maximum strength . Material optimization and cut-out design minimize weight and allow easy fresh water rinsing of salt and debris from bearings. The cheek design has been improved with a flare at the block throat and a reduced gap between the cheek and pulley, minimizing thecable wear.
Universal head
The head assembly incorporates a brass washer bearing to ensure smooth 360 rotation of the post and shackle. A set screw arrangement allows the head to be locked at 0 or 90.
Shackles are made of high quality forged 316 grade stainless steel.
Features:
