The Simrad V5035 is a complete AIS Class A transponder system, approved by the IMO for use on board SOLAS ships. As a standalone solution with an integrated display and GPS antenna, junction box and pilot plug assembly included, the V5035 cost-effectively offers a complete solution requiring only the purchase of a VHF antenna separately. The V5035 supports multiple external sensors and integrates with Simrad navigation and mapping systems, external GPS receivers, radar systems, voyage data loggers and other NMEA 0183/2000 devices. /p>

IMO Type AIS Class A Approved for SOLAS Vessels

SOLAS transport requirements require Class A Automatic Identification Systems (AIS) be installed on board all ships, during international voyages, of 300 GT and above; allcargo ships, international or national, of 500 GT and more; and all passenger ships, international or domestic, regardless of their size. The Simrad V5035 is a complete solution with IMO type approval to meet AIS requirements on board SOLAS vessels.

AIS systems allow you to have instant insight into traffic situations and other vessel maneuvers and easily make contact with other vessels using the call signs presented on the AIS screen. Detailed information on AIS-enabled vessels makes navigation in radar blind zones easier.

Autonomous operation

The SimradV5035 is a compact stand or panel-mounted unit with an integrated 3.5-inch color LCD display, multi-function rotary dial and six-button keypad. The V5035 can be configured and operated without any external displays or controllers and provides AIS information to the operator in basic shoreline, radar-like, alpha.digital (contact text list) and satellite display modes.

Complete AIS solution with full connectivity

The V5035 comes with a junction box providing three directional NMEA 0183 dual ports and NMEA 2000 bus for connection to multiple external sensors (e.g. heading, gyroscope) and sharing AIS data for display by navigation systems such as the Simrad GN70, MX610 or MX612 and ECS/ECDIS, including the Simrad E5000 series. The V5035 also includes a complete driver plug assembly for connection to a Personal Pilot Unit (PPU).
