Finally an antenna designed for both VHF and AIS!

This antenna is specially designed by Vesper Marine for use with our antenna splitter. Until now, you had to choose an AIS antenna optimized for AIS frequencies but less efficient for your VHF radio. You may also choose an antenna that is designed for VHF radio communications but is not optimal for AIS. Either one works, but we have a better solution.

We've created an antenna that solves this dilemma. It has two key features which combine to make it ideal for use with our antenna splitter:

The wide 6 MHz bandwidth means it will cover 3 MHz above and below the center point
The center frequency of 159 MHz provides excellent performance for VHF (156 MHz) and AIS (162 MHz) radio

The resultat is an antenna offering superior performance compared to other models. It has less than 1.5:1 VSWR at 156 MHz up to 162 MHz. With other VHF or AIS antennas, you'll only get low VSWR at one end of the frequency band, but not both.

We've packed all of this into the same physical package as our most popular antenna. It is perfect for installations where the lowest possible wind speed is a requirement. A detachable cable makes installation and maintenance easier and allows any length of cable to be used. It mounts easily to a flagpole but can also be mounted almost anywhere with its included L-bracket. Examples of our customers' mounting locations are next to solar panels, on the sides of the bimini, on an arch, above a radar or along the edge of a cabin roof. The L-bracket can be removed, allowing even greater mounting flexibility.
