Victron BatteryProtect BP-100 - 100AMP - 6-35 VDC Electrical
BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it no longer has enough power left to crank the engine. Battery Protect is a unidirectional device. It can only handle current in one direction, so either current to a load or current coming from a charger, but not both currents at the same time. Additionally, current can only flow from the battery terminal to the charging terminal. When used with a load, the battery connects to the Battery terminal, and when used with a charger, the charger connects to the Battery terminal.BatteryProtect BP-100 - 100AMP - 6-35 VDC
Features:
- The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non-essential loads before completely discharged (which will damage the battery) orbefore there is no longer enough power left to crank the engine.
- 12/24V Auto Range The BatteryProtect automatically senses system voltage
- Simplified Programming The BatteryProtect can be configured to turn on/off at several different voltages. The seven segment display will indicate which setting has been chosen.
- A special setting for Li-ion batteries. In this mode, the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE.Bus BMS. Note: The BatteryProtect can also be used as a load switch between a battery charger and a Li-ion battery. See connection diagram in the manual.
- Ultra low current consumption This is important in the case of Li-ion batteries, especially after a low voltage shutdown. Please see our Li-ion battery datasheet and VE.Bus BMS manual for more information.
- Overvoltage protection To avoid endommager sensitive loads due to overvoltage, the load is disconnected whenever the DC voltage exceeds 16 V respectively 32 V.
- Ignition proof No relays but MOSFET switches, and therefore no sparking.
- Delayed Alarm Output The alarm output is activated if the battery voltage drops below the preset disconnect level for more than 12 seconds. Starting the engine will therefore not activate the alarm. The alarm output is a short circuit resistant open collector output to the negative (minus) rail, max. current 50 mA. The alarm output is typically used to activate a buzzer, LED or relay. Delayed load disconnection and delayed reconnection The load will be disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm is activated. If the battery voltage increases again to the connection threshold during this period (after starting the engine for example), the load will not be disconnected. The load will be reconnected 30 seconds after the battery voltage increases beyond the preset reconnection voltage.
