Actisense NGW-1 - NMEA 0183 to NMEA 2000 Marine Navigation & Instruments

The Actisense NGW-1 is an intelligent gateway that converts NMEA 0183 data to NMEA 2000 (and vice versa), allowing you to share information between devices of both standards. This creates the opportunity to upgrade some of the ship's electronics to NMEA 2000 and retain the remaining NMEA 0183 devices.

The NMEA2000 to NMEA 0183 gateway is the easiest way to connect the old and new data network of a boat. The NGW-1 converts NMEA 0183 data to NMEA2000 data and vice versa. Once the single-cable NMEA2000 gateway is installed, data from any node on the bus can be listened to by any other, including any NMEA 0183 instrument connected using an NGW-1 . The NMEA2000 network acts as a two-way multiplexer, allowing all data sources to communicate and listen to each other. Multiple NGW-1 units can be used to multiplex multiple applicationsareils NMEA 0183 over the NMEA2000 network, using the network as a means to combine and transfer all data elements from one location to another.

The Actisense NMEA Reader software utility allows the user of the NGW-1 to view and understand (in detail) the translated NMEA 0183 sentences directly transmitted by an NGW-1.

NGW-1: the gateway is the standard option, with an opto input -isolated and an ISO-Drive output for direct bi-directional connection of the NMEA 0183 device.

NOTE TO INSTALLER:

NGW-1 will convert NMEA2000 data to NMEA 0183 and vice versa. but each application must be checked against the Actisenses PGN conversion list that the latest NGW-1s firmware is capable of handling. This list details exactly which NMEA 0183 sentences can be converted to NMEA2000 messages and which NMEA2000 messages can be converted to NMEA 0183 sentences.
