The GM1600 Marine VHF handheld is designed for compliant survival gear communications at GMDSS. The radio is designed to survive and operate in the extreme environmental conditions common in maritime emergencies and brings the latest search and rescue technology to the market.
The GM1600's shock-resistant housing is constructed from a brightly colored dye. injected polymer, ensuring that this essential piece of emergency equipment will always be easy to find in a survival bag, in a life raft or anywhere else when you need to find it quickly.
Survival Craft Radio
The GM1600 meets the requirements of temperature, thermal shock, vibration and drop resistance (from 1 m height). After passing these environmental tests,GM1600 withstands waterproof construction to 1m depth specified by IMO resolutions A.809(19), A.694(17) and IEC 61097-12. The BP-234 battery can operate even at –4ºF.
Easy operation
All buttons are sized for quick use, and the Large, well-labeled buttons feature positive "Feel" action with a programmable beep for safe operation. The front panel includes one-touch access to channel 16 and the call channel.
