The Hi-glossy material

NavPods are made with a custom co-extruded ABS material coated with Acrylic. We use the best UV resistant material that provides a high gloss white finish that matches gel coated fiberglass. Gen3 enhancements now include a matte finish.Thicker material which improves strength and
provides better structural rigidity.

The waterproof seal

All NavPods are manufactured with a double seal system providing an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod for the protection of your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with an improved flush fit. The internal EPDM seal is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "retentive compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to service your electronic devices.

Nickel-chrome plated screws

We use all stainless steel mounting hardware that comes with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screwshave deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than previous screws. For Gen3 we provide tamper proof screws made from chrome nickel plated stainless steel for added security combined with a biting!

The manufacturing process

Large gauge thermoforming is considered an art since many
processes come into play. It all starts with the design and development of the tooling
. We are fortunate to have experienced in-house design engineers who use CAD programs such as Solidworks, Catia and AutoCad. Surfcam is accustomed to precision tolerances.
