PP4800 Series, PowerPods for power are a better option than mounting on support. PowerPods offer a sleek look for flush mounting with the benefit of a swivel base.

The trunnion mount that comes with most electronic devices is not optimal. PowerPods have the advantage of protecting the back of the electronics from salt water spray. Most manufacturers do an excellent job of protecting the screen face from water intrusion with sealed rubber push buttons. The back is generally not waterproof. They expect you to slot it into the console or a NavPod. The PowerPod also protects plastic connectors and wires from deterioration caused by prolonged UV exposure.

PowerPods for Sail are intended to be mounted on a flat surface. Maybe under the capot or aft of the cockpit table, especially on twin wheel boats.

GEN3 Features:

Hi-Glossy Material
NavPods are made with custom co-extruded acrylic coated ABS material. NavPod uses the best UV resistant material that provides a high gloss white finish that matches gel coated fiberglass. Gen3 improvements now include thicker material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity.

Waterproof seal
All NavPods are manufactured with a double seal system providing an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod for the protection of your marine electronics . NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with an improved flush fit. The inter sealne EPDM is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "defined compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to repair your electronic devices.

Nickel-chrome plated screws
NavPod us all stainless steel mounting hardware supplied with each NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than previous screws. For Gen3 we provide tamper proof nickel plated stainless steel screws for added security combined with a little bling!

Manufacturing process
Large gauge thermoforming is considered an art since many processes come into play. It all starts with the design and development of tooling. NavPod is fortunate to have experienced in-house design engineers who utilize pCAD programs such as Solidworks, Catia and AutoCad. Surfcam is used to interface with our CNC machining centers to produce quality tools with precision tolerances. NavPod has redesigned and revamped all popular NavPods. NavPod looked at all the old products, selected the best design elements from each, and incorporated them into every Gen3 product.
