The shiny material

NavPodsare made with custom co-extruded acrylic coated ABS material. We use the best UV resistant material that provides a very bright white finish that matches gel coated fiberglass. Gen3 improvements now include thicker material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity.

The tight seal

All NavPods are manufactured with a double seal system providing an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod for the protection of your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with an improved flush fit. The internal EPDM gasket is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "set compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to openlaugh the NavPod in the future to repair your electronic devices.

Nickel-plated chrome screws

We use all hardware from Stainless steel mounting supplied with each NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPodh wrench for better grip than previous screws. For Gen3 we provide nickel-chrome plated stainless steel tamper proof screws for added security combined with a little bling!

The manufacturing process

Large gauge thermoforming is considered an art since many processes come into play. It all starts with the design and development of tooling. We are fortunate to have experienced in-house design engineers who use CAD programs such as Solidworks, Catia and AutoCad. Surfcam is used to interface with our CNC machining centers to produce toolingquality with precision tolerances.
