PP5200 series, PowerPods for power are a better option than bracket mounting. PowerPods offer a sleek look for flush mounting with the benefit of a swivel base. The trunnion mount that comes with most electronic devices is not optimal. PowerPods have the advantage of protecting the back of the electronics from salt water spray. Most manufacturers do an excellent job of protecting the screen face from water intrusion with sealed rubber push buttons. The back is generally not waterproof. They expect you to slot it into the console or a NavPod. The PowerPod also protects plastic connectors and wires from deterioration caused by prolonged UV exposure. PowerPods for Sail are intended to be mounted on a flat surface. Maybe underdodger or aft of the cockpit table, especially on twin wheel boats.

The very shiny material

NavPods are made with custom co-extruded acrylic coated ABS material. We use the best UV resistant material that provides a high gloss white finish that matches gel coated fiberglass. Gen3 improvements now include thicker material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity.

The waterproof seal

All NavPods are manufactured with a double seal off systemproviding an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod to protect your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with improved flush fit. The internal EPDM gasket is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "set compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to service your electronic devices.

Nickel-chrome plated screws

We We use all stainless steel mounting hardware provided with each NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than previous screws. For Gen3, we provide nickel-chrome-plated stainless steel tamper-resistant screws for moresafety combined with a little bling!

Large caliber thermoforming is considered an art since many processes come into play. It all starts with the design and development of the tooling. We are fortunate to have experienced in-house design engineers who use CAD programs such as Solidworks, Catia and AutoCad. Surfcam is used to interface with our CNCnters machining center to produce quality tools with precision tolerances.
