The SP Autopilot Control System -120 includes the following units:

SP-120 display and control head
9-axis SI-TEX compass
Steering Feedback Unit (SP-120R only)

In addition, the SP-120 must be connected to a drive unit that controls the rudder actuator system in order to to complete the complete autopilot system. The actuator system provides physical movement to the rudder in response to the direction of control signals provided by the SP-120.

A rudder actuator system includes one of the following:

Hydraulic system with helm pump and cylinder
Mechanical steering system

The autopilot must be connected to one of the followings:

Reversing motor/pump assembly connected to the existing hydraulic system. steering system
Reversal mechanicsl drive unit connected to the existing steering mechanism
Electronic hydraulic solenoid valves
