The Actisense NGW-1 is an intelligent gateway that converts NMEA 0183 data to NMEA 2000 (and vice versa), allowing you to share information between devices of both standards. This creates the opportunity to upgrade some of the ship's electronics to NMEA 2000 and retain the remaining NMEA 0183 devices.

The NMEA2000 to NMEA 0183 gateway is the easiest way to connect the old and new data network of a boat. The NGW-1 converts NMEA 0183 data to NMEA2000 data and vice versa. Once the single-cable NMEA2000 gateway is installed, data from any node on the bus can be listened to by any other, including any NMEA 0183 instrument connected using an NGW-1 . The NMEA2000 network acts as a two-way multiplexer, allowing all data sources to communicate and listen to each other.
