PRO shaft seal for 1-3/4" shaft and 3-1/2" tube

The PSS PRO shaft seal is a seal mechanical using our proven stainless steel. and carbon sealing components, but adds a reinforced silicone bellows, we include external rings standard on +2-1/4" sizes and optional on all smaller sizes, a shaft retention collar secondary, 316 stainless steel hose clamps (rolled edges and non-perforated) and an optional Nitronic 50 rotor upgrade (for highly corrosive environments Designed specifically for applications that will require increased durability and strength). to harsh, corrosive, high pressure and otherwise demanding environments The PSS PRO shaft seal is a specialized mechanical seal that is suitable for a variety of applications, with unrivaled performance.

The carbon fixed flange is attached to a heavy duty silicone bellows which is secured to the vessel's stern tube (shaft log), with 316SS hose clamps. The stainless steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange and is used to compress the bellows, the rotor is then attached to the shaft with set screws and the shaft retention collar is installed. This compression (preload) maintains constant contact between the two contact faces of the stainless steel rotor and the carbon flange, allowing the PSS to compensate for the variable axial movement due to propeller thrust. The carbon flange is overbored relative to the shaft diameter, which allows it to "float" around the shaft and thus compensate for most misalignments and vibrations in the transmission. The roThe stainless steel tor is sealed to the shaft by two O-rings recessed into the rotor bore. These O-rings rotate with the stainless steel shaft and rotor and therefore do not suffer wear during operation.

Specifications:

  • Temperature Limits: -13°F to 425°F (-25°C to 220°C)

  • Carbon Graphite: Lapped to 4 HLB (0.000044" Tolerance)
  • 316SS / Nitronic 50: Face to 9 Ra
  • Bellows Material: Molded Formed Silicone/Fabric

Product Dimensions:

  • Shank Dia. (A) 1-3/4"
  • Stern tube diameter. (B) 3-1/2" to 3-5/8"

  • Rotor diameter (D) 3.75"
  • Rear sleeve length (E) 1.3 "

The PYI PSS PRO shaft seal uses components from janointed with mature stainless steel and carbon, but adds a reinforced silicone boot, auxiliary shaft retaining ring, 316SS hose clamp, and optional Nitronic 50 rotor assembly upgrade (for highly corrosive environments ). The result is a special anti-drip mechanical seal suitable for various applications with unrivaled performance and durability. The PSS PRO mechanical seal does not replace the PSS Type A mechanical seal, but complements the PSS mechanical seal series with this commercially oriented product. Working Principle: Two nitrile O-rings seal the stainless steel rotor to the shaft and will not wear out. Use the main set screws and spare set screws (2 sets) to secure the stainless steel rotor to the shaft to form a seal between the two mating surfaces of the carbon stator and the stainless steel rotor. Raw water issent to the PSS mechanical seal for cooling/lubrication. The sealing surface of the high speed container is fixed with the carbon stator fixed on the corrugated pipe. The corrugated tube is fixed on the stern tube (shaft log) and the shaft fixing ring is fixed on the shaft. If the coupling fails catastrophically or the shaft becomes detached from the coupling, it is helpful to keep the propeller shaft or rudder shaft in your container. Gussets can improve strength, support and durability. The outer ring is a standard piece with a size of 2-1/4" (60mm) to 3-3/4" (95mm). For smaller size 316SS hose clamps (with crimp and non-perforated tape), this is an optional soft hose clamp tail protector, jacket

PSS PRO Shaft Seal for 1-3/4" Shaft and 3-1/2" Tube Product Description

PRO Shaft Seal for 1-3/4" Shaft and 3-1/2" Tube 3-1/2"

The PSS PRO shaft seal is a mechanical seal using our proven stainless steel and carbon sealing components, but adds a reinforced silicone bellows, we include standard outer rings on +2-1/4" sizes and optional on all smaller sizes, secondary shaft retention collar, 316 stainless steel hose clamps (rolled edges and non-perforated) and an optional Nitronic 50 rotor upgrade (for highly corrosive environments). Designed specifically for applications that will require increased durability and resistance to harsh, corrosive, high pressure and otherwise demanding environments. PSS PRO shaft seal is a specialist mechanical seal that is suitable for a variety of applications, withunmatched performance.

As with Type A and B PSS seals, the PRO Shaft Seal is a mechanical seal. The sealing surface is created between the two flat surfaces of the rotating stainless steel rotor and the fixed carbon flange. The fixed carbon bridle is attached to a heavy duty silicone bellows which is secured to the vessel's stern tube (shaft log), with 316SS hose clamps. The carbon flange is overbored relative to the shaft diameter, allowing it to "float" aroundthe shaft and thus compensate for most misalignments and vibrations in the transmission. The stainless steel rotor is sealed to the shaft by two O-rings recessed into the rotor bore. These O-rings rotate with the stainless steel shaft and rotor, and therefore do not suffer wear during operation.
