RailMount NavPods are best used for mounting an autopilot control, navigation instrument or small chart plotter on an existing protective base. Fits any 1" or 1.25" diameter tube. A chrome nickel plated stainless steel arm is used to mount a NavPod. The NavPod can rotate 180 degrees for easy viewing when sitting under the vehicle on a rainy day. All wiring runs from the NavPod down the center of the stainless steel arm and into the base shield. This application provides a clean, sturdy installation for electronics, without replacing the base guard.

Rail mounts are designed for all popular standard size instruments as well as 7 and 9 plotters inches.

Structural rigidity
Gen3 i improvementsNow include thicker acrylic-coated ABS material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity. This thicker material allows for a greater water-roofing seal. The higher the structural rigidity, the less flex there is when tightening and the more uniform the pressure on the joint. The excellent UV stability of acrylic is combined with the durability of ABS. The acrylic cap protects the ABS from UV and its potentially harmful effects on plastic. These new NavPods are really strong!

Waterproof seal
All NavPods are made with a double seal system providing an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod . This seal offers the best protection for your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer seal with an adjustableimproved flush mount. The Poran Microcell Polyurathane internal seal is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to repair your electronic devices. The seal will continue to do its job.

Chrome Nickel Plated Stainless Steel
We use all 316 stainless steel hardware that comes with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than the screws used on our traditional series NavPod. For NavPods Gen3, we provide tamper-resistant nickel-chrome-plated stainless steel screws for added security combined with a little bling!
