Engine mount with 4" footprint - 5/8" stud - 70 to 201 lb capacity per mountR&D marine engine mounts are designed specifically for the rigors of marine applications . The mounts are rigid enough to absorb thrust from the fore and aft propeller, but soft enough to isolate transmission vibrations from the hull.
To help increase the longevity of the mounts, all parts in steel are zinc plated and pasivated to limit corrosion. . The rubber component is coated with an oil shield to protect it from petroleum-based products.
R&D Marine mounts are preloaded based on the combined weight of the engine and transmission to limit movement of the engine. For ease of installation, the brackets are height adjustable and the mounting holes in the base of the bracket are slotted to aid transmission alignment.
How to select (details requis):
1.Define the total weight of the engine and transmission.
2.Determine 60% of the total weight then divide by 2 to determine the capacity of each of the rear supports (the side supports engine transmission).
3. Determine 40% of the total weight then divide by 2 to determine the capacity of each of the front mounts (the mounts opposite the transmission side of the engine).
4. Determine the required stud diameter and bracket footprint.
5. Choose the most appropriate size bracket for the weight of each bracket. When possible, choose the bracket closest to the middle of the weight range.
Example:
The weight of the motor is 480 lbs, the weight of the transmission is 110 lbs, footprint is 4", stud diameter is 5/8".
Total weight is 590 lbs.
590 x 0.6/2 = 177 lbs by rear support. Required brackets are 800-010
590 x 0.4/2 = 118 lbs per rear bracket. Supportsrequired are 800-037
