PP4500 series, PowerPods for power supply are a better option than rack mounting. PowerPods offer a sleek look for flush mounting with the benefit of a swivel base.

The trunnion mount that comes with most electronic devices is not optimal. PowerPods have the advantage of protecting the back of the electronics from salt water spray. Most manufacturers do an excellent job of protecting the screen face from water intrusion with sealed rubber push buttons. The back is generally not waterproof. They expect you to slot it into the console or a NavPod. The PowerPod also protects plastic connectors and wires from deterioration caused by prolonged UV exposure.

PowerPods for Sail are intended to be mounted on a flat surface. Maybe under the hood or in the backof the cockpit table, especially on twin wheel boats.

High gloss material

NavPods are made with an ABS material co -custom extruded coated with acrylic. We use the best UV resistant material that provides a high gloss white finish that matches gel coated fiberglass. Gen3 improvements now include thicker material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity.

The waterproof seal

All NavPods are manufactured with a double seal system providing an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod for the protection of your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with an improved flush fit. The EPDM internal seal is nowbut 50% thicker and is not subject to "defined compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to repair your electronic devices.

Chrome nickel plated screws

We use all the steel mounting hardware provided with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than previous screws. For Gen3 we provide nickel-chrome plated stainless steel tamper proof screws for added security combined with a little bling!

The manufacturing process

Large gauge thermoforming is considered an art as many processes come into play. It all starts with tooling design and development. We are fortunate to be able to count on engineers from designexperienced in-house staff who use CAD programs such as Solidworks, Catia and AutoCad. Surfcam is used to interface with our CNC machining centers to produce quality tools with precision tolerances.
