Structural Rigidity – Gen3 enhancements now include higher gauge acrylic coated ABS materials thick which improves strength and provides better structural rigidity. This thicker material allows for greater sealing. The higher the structural rigidity, the less flexing when tightening and more uniform pressure on the joint. The excellent UV stability of acrylic is combined with the durability of ABS. The acrylic cap protects the ABS from UV and its potentially damaging effects on plastic.

Waterproof Seal – All SystemPods are manufactured with a double seal system providing an excellent seal. This seal provides the best protection for your marine electronics. SystemPods are designed to withstand the harshest wet offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with an improved flush fit. The internal Poron Microcell polyurethane gasket is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "defined compression" clike many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the SystemPod in the future in order to repair your electronic devices. The gasket will continue to do its job.

Chrome Nickel Plated Stainless Steel – We use all 316 stainless steel hardware that comes with each NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than the screws used on our traditional series NavPod. For NavPods Gen3, we provide tamper-resistant, nickel-chrome-plated stainless steel screws for added security and a bit of style!
